Spain Payroll Specialist




Overview


The Apple Finance department based in Cork supports all functions of the Apple business including the European Logistics, Manufacturing and Asia /Pac Operations, European Technical Support, Retail, iTunes and Applestore.

Apple’s business is constantly changing and growing to meet market demands.
We are seeking a person to join the team, who will take an active role in the accounting activities associated with the European region.

The successful candidate will become a member of the wider Finance team with regional interactions. This is a key role in a dynamic environment with the potential for the role to develop further with additional responsibilities in line with business requirements.

The person will be responsible for ensuring all customer payments due are received and matched correctly on receipt, resolving customer financial queries, documenting and actioning accordingly where payment is not received.



Responsibilities


· Full responsibility for the processing of monthly payroll of salaried and hourly paid employees.
· Entails processing from reports received to produce an output file to go to outsourced payroll provider or to be uploaded to ADP
· Fully responsible for checking of trial and final payroll outputs which includes:-
o Payslips, Gross to net reports,
o Weekly and monthly costing and deduction reports plus the reconciliation of same.
o Transmission of funds by EFT.
o Issuing of P45’s for leavers in a timely fashion.
o Month end reporting and posting of payroll to SAP general ledger.
o Dealing with queries from employees, Hr, Supervisors, managers and the Revenue Commissioners.
o Recording and reporting of clocking hours and holiday balances.
o Retention of all records in a proper manner.
o Implementing and maintaining controls over all documentation and processes in line with SOX requirements
o Processing payroll deduction payments i.e. Pension, Union etc.,
o Processing manual cheques and payments to third parties etc.,
· Covering for other payroll functions where necessary
· Tax year end tasks & reporting.
· All aspects of payroll compliance and controls
· System & process testing & project work




Skills & Experience


· Must be capable of dealing with high volume and regular changes in volume.
· Experience of payroll processes & systems
· Good Organisation Skills.
· Excellent Communicator.
· Ability to meet tight deadlines.
· Excellent team player
· Fluency in Spanish is essential
· Experience of Spanish Payroll Processes and Statutory environment is essential

Educational Requirements
Minimum: Leaving Certificate examination (or equivalent) with Maths and Accounting or Business Studies

Desired: Qualified Payroll Specialist with local Spanish payroll knowledge.
