VMware, is seeking a Telecommunication Engineer to support the daily operational telephony initiatives for the Cork location. You will participate and work with VMware’s telecom group to support worldwide telecom projects which include office relocations, new phone systems, video conferencing, etc.
Works to develop, improve, maintain, and implement new telephony infrastructure and services. Requires familiarity with a call center concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish team goals. Assist the Telecommunications Manager with the Voice system administration functions, including provisioning, installation, maintenance, technical support, training, and problem resolution by performing the following duties:
· Proactively monitor all telephone switches in International to maximize operating efficiency and uptime.
· You will be required to work with the companies Help-Desk system to resolve T2/3 operational issues and support T1/2 Engineers.
· The Telecommunications Engineer reports into the EMEA Network & Telecommunications Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
· 3 – 5 years related experience administering large multi-site telecom systems. Avaya Experience required, certifications a plus.
· Organizes incoming trouble tickets to correctly prioritize telecom related requests
· Communicates directly with telecommunications vendors to address hardware and provisioning issues
· Polycom Video Conference system support (optional)
· Train users on telephone & voice mail operation.
· Help users to use call centre applications (One-X Agent, IP Agent, CTI applications)
· Train business managers to use Avaya tools (CMS/IQ). Demonstrate call center solutions.
· Create / troubleshoot call flows on ACD, Voice Portal / Salesforce.com
· Manage Session Managers and Session Border controllers.
· Troubleshoot SIP/H323 problems.
· Troubleshoot softphone and VPN applications.
· Create / maintain documentation about phone infrastructure
· Create / maintain documentation about call center solutions.
· Manage different voice mail solutions (Modular Messaging, Aura Messaging, Audix LX, IA770, etc.)
· Excellent project management skills Essential attention to detail
· Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills Serves as the primary operational liaison between VMware and the telco services providers
· Willingness to travel on occasion
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years Avaya specific telecommunications experience
· Minimum 4 years experience as an Avaya systems administrator
· Minimum 4 years experience working with telco providers (voice services, data services, internet services) to specify telco service requirements and coordinate timely delivery of these services
3 – 5 years experience supporting large PBX configurations and voicemail systems, G450,G650,G700, S8300, S8800, Modular Messaging, Audix, IA770.
· Must have experience supporting call center applications, CMS, IQ, Databases and ISDN, IP and SIP voice services.
· ACD Administration and troubleshooting, VDNs, Vectors, Skills.
· Avaya Voice Portal (IVR)
Education:
4-year degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent Preferred candidates will have professional certifications on the Avaya PBX platform, Modular Messaging Voice Mail (optional), and Salesforce (optional)
