Total Productive Maintenance Manager.
In this role you will provide focus and leadership for production & technical staff and activities within the manufacturing department, in order to realise manufacturing targets and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Assume responsibility for all Health Safety Environmental issues and training within the factory.
To effectively utilise labour, materials, plant and equipment to maintain manufacturing cost within controlled budgetary parameters.
Reviews performance of the department and personnel against approved objectives, budgets and plans, and takes necessary remedial actions.
Develop high levels of performance and customer satisfaction through use of continuous improvement tools and techniques and by promoting effective team working.
Ensure that all customer quality expectations are understood and achieved.
Promote and apply continuous improvement tools and techniques whilst striving to reduce operational costs.
To take responsibility for production across 3 shifts ensuring forecasted volume is delivered on time, within specified quality and at optimum cost in line with targeted manufacturing results
To ensure a safe, well maintained production operating in accordance with Corporate standards for quality, safety, security, housekeeping and in conformance with all local regulations
To ensure optimal production planning and coordination processes to control and reduce working capital requirements
To instill a culture of continuous improvement based on the disciplined application of systematic problem solving, quality improvement and lean manufacturing tools and processes
To directly lead and develop the capability and performance of your team of direct reports
Responsible for the effective realisation of the plant maintenance program and ensures that it is consistent with group policy.
Provide leadership, coaching and development of supervisory team to align their performance with best practice Lean manufacturing principles.
Conducts performance reviews, develops growth plans, interprets implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 7 years' experience successfully leading a factory team or large operations department. He/she should have a strong technical background, ideally with a University degree or similar professional qualification in engineering or a related field.
A solid understanding and demonstrated successful application of continuous improvement tools and processes is expected.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to energise people and to develop a high performance culture throughout the factory. Strong communication and negotiation skills will be needed in a unionised environment and are necessary to maintain positive working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
